Biography
Agronomist, PhD in biology. His thesis was on the biology of the Antarctic and he spent five years disseminating knowledge about climate change at the International Polar Foundation. Later, he joined the biomimicry movement, founding Biomimicry-Europa in 2006 to promote the concept in Europe. In 2007 he founded the Greenloop consultancy. For many years, he has been committed to biomimicry and post-oil farming, working with Pablo Sevigne and the Bec Hellouin farm, where he serves on the Scientific Committee.
He is also a lecturer and has been a scientific collaborator at the Belgian Royal Institute of Natural Sciences for 15 years and has authored or co-authored some 15 scientific articles. He is the father of two boys aged 16 and 18 and an enthusiastic naturalist, who loves birds, whales, orchids and edible wild plants.

Biographie
Ingénieur agronome et docteur en biologie. Après une thèse en biologie Antarctique, et 5 ans de sensibilisation aux changements climatiques à la Fondation Polaire Internationale, il a rejoint le mouvement du biomimétisme, fondé en 2006 l’association Biomimicry-Europa en vue de promouvoir le concept en Europe, puis le bureau d’études Greenloop en 2007. Depuis plusieurs années, il se passionne pour l’agriculture biomimétique et post-pétrole, aux côtés de Pablo Servigne, et de la Ferme du Bec Hellouin dont il a intégré le Conseil Scientifique.
Egalement conférencier, collaborateur scientifique à l’Institut Royal des Sciences Naturelles de Belgique depuis 15 ans, auteur ou co-auteur d’une quinzaine de publications scientifiques, mais aussi père de deux garçons de 16 et 18 ans, naturaliste enthousiaste et amoureux d’oiseaux, de cétacés, d’orchidées ou de plantes sauvages comestibles.

Landbouwkundig ingenieur en Dr. in de biologie. Zijn thesis ging over de biologie van Antartica en hij was 5 jaar bezig met het verspreiden van kennis over klimaatverandering aan het International Polar Foundation. In 2006 was hij medestichter van de vzw Biomimicry-Europa met als doel de promotie van het biomimetisme in Europa. In 2007 heeft hij het studiebureau Greenloop opgericht rond hetzelfde concept. Al vele jaren is hij geëngageerd in biomimetische en post-olie landbouw, aan de zijde van Pablo Sevigne en de Bec Hellouin boerderij, waar hij lid is van de wetenschappelijke raad.
Hij geeft lezingen en is al 15 jaar wetenschappelijk medewerker aan het Koninklijk Belgisch Instituut voor Natuurwetenschappen. Hij is auteur of co-auteur van een 15 tal wetenschappelijke publicaties. Hij is de vader van 2 jongens, 16 en 18, en een enthousiaste natuurliefhebber die van vogels, walvissen, orchideeën en eetbare wilde planten houdt.
